Not untypically, the British summer is proving something of a damp squib this year. Which makes keeping the kids entertained all the more challenging. Finally, the wait is almost over. On July 15th , the most eagerly awaited movie event of the year (for kids anyway) is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 hits UK cinemas. The final chapter in the Harry Potter saga finds Harry, Ron and Hermione in the fight of their lives. Can they save the wizarding worlds very existence as the final chapter in the battle between “He who must not be named” and “The boy who lived” comes to a dramatic conclusion.

All children love super heroes and when Capitan America: The First Avenger comes out on July 29th, there’s every chance your children will be eager to see it. When Steve Rogers is found unsuitable to be in the military service he volunteers for a secret mission that results in him being turned into Captain America and vowing to protect America’s citizens from all evil villains. This should be an action packed movie that is fun for the entire family to watch.

Vrooom, Vroooom is the sound your children will be making on July 22nd as Disney Pixar’s Cars 2 hits our screens. Sparks will fly as Lighting McQueen and his beloved sidekick Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Pix Race. Things quickly become complicated as Mater decides to try his hand at international espionage. Make sure you take the whole family to see this one. You won’t be disappointed.

If you really fancy a trip down memory lane, those friendly little blue people from your childhood are back and will soon be captivating your children just as much as they did you on Saturday mornings. The Smurfs is scheduled for release on 12th August and no doubt will be a must see top movie of the summer. The Smurfs have a huge adventure coming to them when the evil wizard Gargamel chases them away from their village and they end up in our big, bad world. Comedy and calamity ensues as the tiny Smurfs try to make their way home. Available in 3D this one too!

Finally in Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World the Spy Kids are back in yet another delightful adventure of super heroes and villains, not to mention cool gadgets and gizmos that your children will love. The release date for this one is August 19th. So, mark your calendar and make a night of it!
