Parents should pack up their child rollalong suitcases, travel potties and toddler backpacks with reins and head for Cornwall this summer.

The local tourism authority, VisitCornwall, has underlined how the county is a wonderful destination for families.

PR manager Teresa Timms said mums and dads are "lured by its spectacular beaches" and love the wide range of accommodation options in the region.

She suggested Newquay could be a cool place to head to, as it is ideally placed for exploring the east and west of the county.

Families who love packing up their buggy sunshades and baby back carriers and heading out into the great outdoors could enjoy a jaunt to the Eden Project, which is a large horticultural attraction.

Ms Timms added: "[Cornwall] also has great public transport links including the Newquay-Par branch line which links with the mail railway line linking most of Cornwall with Newquay."

According to a recent travelsupermarket.com poll, taking a staycation will remain high on the agenda for many Britons in 2010 - 16 per cent are planning a UK holiday this summer.ADNFCR-3005-ID-19625642-ADNFCR
