Parents taking young children to a busy theme park such as Chessington World of Adventures (CWA) this summer may decide a toddler backpack with reins gives them peace of mind.

The Surrey attraction has announced details of Wild Asia, a new family area that has a mythical theme and numerous rides.

Among these is the KOBRA, a rollercoaster that travels at 43mph on a 90-metre track.

The Temples of Mayhem and the Jungle Bus could interest younger visitors, while animal fans could enjoy looking at the wildlife in the Lorikeet Lagoon.

PR manager at the park Maria Hamilton underlined how all members of the family should find something they enjoy at CWA.

"CWA has something for everyone – even a safari-themed hotel on site to ensure you can turn your visit into a short break," she said. "[It] is a really great family day out."

Ms Hamilton also revealed further areas of the theme park are due to open later this year, such as the Experience zone.

This will be a zoo featuring zebras, antelopes and oryxes.
