Easter is almost upon us and our thoughts have turned towards all things Easter, with the shops stocked with an array of Easter gifts to give and receive, including the traditional chocolate eggs and bunnies.

As a time when families come together to celebrate, Easter also presents the challenge of how to entertain the small people in our lives. The Easter Egg Hunt provides one such fun solution for children of all ages. If you are feeling especially inventive it is possible to devise an Easter Egg Hunt at home, which can be as simple or as complicated as you wish. We have come across a number of kits and would like to share our favourites with you.

A complete traditional Easter Egg Hunt Kit is available from Harrods , packaged beautifully in a box that can be used again year after year. This kit comes complete with the edible prizes and plastic eggs with which to plan a hunt. This kit would also make an ideal Easter gift to give a family member.

Party Pieces have a colourful and inexpensive kit costing just under £10.00. This kit comprises of nine wooden arrows and an Easter Egg Hunt sign. This is beautifully made and again, can be kept and used again.

If however, the fine weather is enticing you further afield there are many organised Easter Egg Hunts around the country together with Easter inspired family events and children’s activities to enjoy as a family.

Here in Bristol, there are many Easter events taking place. One that has certainly caught our eye, are the Easter and Spring inspired events being held at the At Bristol venue. These range from the more traditional Easter Themed Face painting, taking place over the Easter weekend, plus clay Bunny workshops in which your children can exercise their creative skills and create their very own Easter Bunny, with the added opportunity for your child to animate their Bunny and watch it come to life. If you have a budding Scientist, At Bristol are also holding live experiments in their Live Lab Area, including hunting for fingerprints, examining x-rays and listening to your heart beat.

Whatever it is that your family decide to do to celebrate Easter, have a fantastic Easter weekend, and although the sun has been shining, don’t forget to pack a raincoat and the sun cream! Happy Easter from Wellies and Worms.
