Families planning to visit Croatia this year should not forget to pack their beach tents.

The eastern European nation is home to many glorious beaches in some tranquil spots, according to the Croatian National Tourist Office.

Director of the authority Meri Matesic underlined how the country is perfect for a budget summer holiday, stating that it is a two-hour flight from the UK.

Two of the nation's main cities, Split and Dubrovnik, are accessible from London Stansted and Manchester Airport.

He said travellers can expect to find a country of "difference and diversity" when they land in Croatia.

"Within a few hours you can sail, dive, go on the beach and in the next hour you can do mountain walking, biking, hiking, or whatever you want to do," Mr Matesic remarked.

Those heading to Anguilla this summer could also need to take beach tents.

According to the Daily Telegraph's James Henderson, the Caribbean island has clear blue waters and excellent beaches.
