Families using child rollalong suitcases are set to be among those who help to maintain Spain's popularity among tourists.

According to cheapflights.co.uk spokesperson Nadine Hallack, the country is still best known as being a "fly and flop" destination for Britons.

She was reacting to a Skyscanner Flight Trends survey earlier this month, which found that Malaga, Alicante, Palma and Tenerife were the first, second, third and fourth most searched-for resorts during June 2010.

Ms Hallack said it is not surprising that people who endure a "less than idyllic climate" in the UK would be looking for some fun in the sun.

Commenting on what draws Brits in such large numbers, she added: "Spain's culture is as rich as its scenery – it would be a shame to miss the country's beautiful architecture, delicious cuisine and vibrant nightlife on any holiday."

Families packing up child rollalong suitcases may wish to go off the beaten track and explore some of the country's lesser known spots, something Ms Hallack also recommended.
