And his mum, reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian, appears to know what she is doing when it comes to looking after the tot, revealing she always uses plenty of sun protection for toddlers and puts her son in a hat.

Writing her regular blog for US magazine People, the socialite revealed her little one recently enjoyed a swim at partner Scott Disick's parents' house.

Mason loved the water so much that Kardashian is considering arranging swimming lessons for him.

"I've heard that babies become great swimmers when taught early because of their natural survival instinct to hold their breath under water," she remarked.

In the UK, the NHS offers plenty of advice on how to take babies swimming safely.

Parents are able to take their little ones to the pool before and after their vaccination for meningococcal disease.

The actor took some time out from the cobbles of Weatherfield to enjoy some fun in the sun with his 16-month-old daughter Nyla Rae and partner Lauren Shippey.

Walking along the sands in pictures published in the Sun, the proud parents appeared to have used sun protection for toddlers, as their little one showed no signs of sunburn on the balmy beach.

Following their stroll, Shepherd stopped to play with his daughter, who appeared to enjoy getting a feel for the sand as she crouched down.

Nyla Rae is not the only famous tot who has been spotted enjoying herself on the beach recently.

Earlier this year, singer Gwen Stefani took her young sons Kingston and Zuma to Malibu, where they got stuck into building some sandcastles with their buckets and spades.

The weathergirl has finally broken the news of her first baby to viewers of the ITV breakfast show, where she has worked for the past 18 months.

Speaking to the Daily Record, McCabe said she is 14 weeks pregnant and that her South African husband Renato Marchio is as thrilled as she is.

She voiced her relief at having a morning job as she feels "bigger" in the evenings.

Discussing her family heritage, McCabe remarked: "The baby is going to be a right mix. As for whether it'll play football for Scotland, if it's a boy that'll be up to him."

Other celebrities who may be busy stocking up on essentials such as infant carriers include pop singer Rachel Stevens, who is expecting her first child later this year.

She recently commented that she is "so excited" about becoming a parent.

<![CDATA[Michael Jackson's children wear kids' swimwear in Hawaii]]> http://welliesandworms.co.uk/news/michael-jacksons-children-wear-kids-swimwear-in-hawaii/
The late King of Pop's offspring hit the beach last Thursday (June 24th 2010) during a vacation with their grandmother Katherine Jackson.

Eight-year-old Blanket enjoyed a cooling dip in the Pacific Ocean surf, while 12-year-old Paris preferred to wear her kids' swimwear in the pool.

Prince Michael, 13, was also in the party, who went on the trip a few days short of the one-year anniversary of Jackson's death.

While their father was alive the children were rarely seen in public, but their new legal guardian Katherine appears to have a more relaxed attitude to appearing out and about.

The Jackson children are not the only famous faces to be seen hitting the beach in their kids' swimwear this summer.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their youngsters Pax and Maddox to Malibu recently, where they enjoyed running along the sands.

<![CDATA[Celebrity parent 'is feeding her baby solids in his travel high chair']]> http://welliesandworms.co.uk/news/celebrity-parent-is-feeding-her-baby-solids-in-his-travel-high-chair/
The reality TV star said she is still breastfeeding the tot, but has started introducing foods into his diet after he turned six months old.

Writing her regular column for the Celebrity Baby Blog, Kardashian stated her little one has been munching on rice cereal, porridge and grains, mixed in with a little of her milk.

"When I introduced it [solids] to him, he seemed confused - but ready and excited for it," the star wrote.

She explained that she plans to carry on breastfeeding Mason for as long as he wants her milk - which she predicts may be around another six months.

Kardashian underlined the benefits of breastfeeding, stating that she loves the bonding experience of giving Mason her milk.

Earlier this month, Momlogic blogger Dra Aliza offered tips to parents starting to feed their children foods in their travel high chairs.

She recommended introducing a new food into the diet each week, which can also help to test for allergies.
