One actor has joked that taking his kids from place to place in baby carriers and chasing after them in toddler harnesses was like doing SAS training.

Andrew Lincoln, who plays one of the lead characters in new TV series Strike Back and has also starred in Love Actually, told the Sun that while he was trained up in South Africa to learn about the elite forces, having two children also prepared him well.

He said: "We went out early to train but having two children is one of the most gruelling trainings I could have had. Night feeds and carrying them all the time!"

Lincoln may have found baby carriers hard to grapple with, but he is now undertaking plenty of physical tasks for Strike Back, including flying in helicopters and rescuing hostages.

The series is based on a book by Chris Ryan and tells the story of an SAS unit dealing with events surrounding the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

A bit more strenuous than falling in love with Keira Knightley in Love Actually, then…
