After recently moving house and changing job, David Cameron may have had little time to stock up on baby essentials such as toddler rainwear and baby back carriers.

The prime minister's wife Samantha is due to give birth in three-and-a-half months, meaning the importance of getting all the gear they will need may become even more pressing.

However, the couple did not look to be showing the stresses of juggling parenthood with work when they appeared at a party in London earlier this week.

Mrs Cameron looked radiant in a red dress as the pair arrived for media mogul Rupert Murdoch's annual summer party at the Kensington Orangery.

They were joined at the bash by guests such as Labour MP and party leadership hopeful David Miliband and comic James Corden, reports the Daily Mail.

The Camerons, who will be becoming parents for the fourth time, said they were "completely thrilled" to be expecting a new baby when they announced the news in March 2010.

Labour MP Gordon Brown, who was prime minister at the time, said he and wife Sarah were "very pleased" to learn of the news.
