Alicia Keys may end up shopping for more toddler clothing in the coming years than many first thought.

The singer, who revealed details of her first pregnancy earlier this month, has clearly caught the maternal bug - and has discussed the possibility of adoption.

Speaking to the Mirror, the R'n'B star said she is particularly keen to help children who have been orphaned due to Aids.

She has already co-founded her own charity, Keep a Child Alive, but wants to do more to improve the lives of millions of youngsters affected by the virus around the world.

Discussing a recent trip to meet affected children, Keys remarked: "I wanted to scoop up the children I met in Africa and take them home.

"Hopefully I can be their big sister who they know they can depend on and will always be there, fighting for them."

Many celebrities have decided to adopt in recent years - a process that is likely to involve investing in some toddler clothing, along with other baby essentials.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have added Pax Thien and Zahara Marley to their family in recent years, while singer Madonna has adopted David Banda and Mercy.
