Supermodel Gisele Bundchen has recommended that anyone packing essentials for baby changing bags should also include accessories needed for breastfeeding.

The 29-year-old mum to five-month-old Benjamin and stepson Jack, two-and-a-half, urged all new mothers via her blog to try feeding their child naturally, describing it as "nature's blessing".

"It's essential for the newborn and creates a bond between mother and child," she commented.

Although the celebrity acknowledged that it can be difficult at first, she said it is worth persevering with, as the rewards are "sublime".

The Department of Health recommends that mothers breastfeed their babies for the first six months of their lives, as this will pass on nutrients, as well as antibodies which could help to prevent diseases.

Earlier this month, Gisele was spotted by People magazine carrying baby Benjamin around sunny New York, with the little one decked out in sun protection for toddlers to protect him from the rays.
