Just a few days after a heatwave hit Britain, the kids' raincoats have been pulled out of the winter wardrobe once again.

Although temperatures hit the high 20s over the weekend, much of the UK has come down to earth with a bump with widespread showers this week.

According to the Met Office, the wet weather will continue until at least Saturday (July 3rd 2010), with the north-west of England bearing the brunt of the bad weather.

However, the threat of the odd shower should be no reason to stay indoors - parents can dress their little ones in kids' raincoats and wellies and enjoy a fun day out whatever the weather.

Those living in the London area could check out the Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, which culminates after two weeks of events on Sunday (July 4th 2010).

Musicians, acrobats and artists are set to show off their skills at the bash, which is free to attend.
